A Parisian Laundry wedding in Montreal is a photographers dream! Apart from the ample light, the architecture in the room and modern, industrial design is a perfect canvas for a beautiful celebration. Montreal is just a short two hour drive from our home in Ottawa, but it is still one of our favourite cities in the whole world, so when Zoe & Amos asked us to photograph their wedding we jumped at the chance. More to that, we photographed her brother’s wedding four years back so we already knew that these were good people and good families.
Zoe, an architect had a distinct vision for the day – beautiful and romantic details in an artistic yet modern location. The couple, along with their friends and family started the day in Old Montreal at the Hotel Nelligan. We moved throughout the windy, cobblestone streets and found a lovely little alleyway for their first look. From there, the celebrations were moved to Little Burgundy, at the Parisian Laundry. They tied the knot under a gorgeous green arbor, while friends and family lovingly looked on. Amos’ brother played the cello as the girls and Zoe walked down the aisle. They even had a lovely little ritual during the ceremony – each guest was given a stone that would later be placed in the couples backyard, and was told to make a wish for them upon the stone.
After much champagne during cocktail hour, dinner was served. Family style treats and appetizers inspired by their favourite restaurants. Their Parisian Laundry wedding ended under moonlight – the crowd dancing away, we could hardly pull them away to say our goodbyes.
Below is an abridged look at their beautiful summer wedding day.
