You can tell an event was designed by Elise Schmitz of Toast Events – because it will never go out of style. Our dear friend Elise has a knack of constantly surprising us with gorgeous details, but she never borders on trendy – any bride and groom that hires her can rest assured that there won’t be single stylistic (or logistic) regret. When we arrived to photograph Sarah and Dave’s Ottawa Art Gallery wedding, we saw Elise’s signature classic palette, but as always, with the most beautiful and surprising touches. She had the bride and grooms menus printed on linen (did you know Audrey Hepburn did that for her wedding), she created an indoor garden, and every single bloom and flower transformed the modern space into a classical painting. See for yourselves below!

This Ottawa Art Gallery wedding was so much fun to shoot – from the lovely ceremony and amazing cocktail hour, Elise also ensured guests were plenty entertained throughout the night: Ukrainian dancers to open up the dance floor, live painting, live musicians and of course, delicious food. Her designs are a perfect combination of classic, remixed without an ounce of pretension. We love you Elise, and adored working with Sarah and Dave on this wonderful Tuscan inspired celebration!
