We’re happy that we hadn’t yet published this wedding because you could all use a boost right about now (us too)! Nothing about this day was taken for granted or unconsidered, and with help from one of our favourite planners, Elyna Kusdish (Montreal), the event went off without a hitch and made it one for the ages. Here it is in all its wild splendor, but first, a couple of thoughts about our bride (her beau Louis is a phenomenally gifted architect too – their home was self-designed – but our thoughts below lie with Stephanie).

Recently, we’d been talking with each other a lot about what traits we admire in people. There are several values that made our shortlist, but the common thread that runs through all the people we admire is, and has always been, the spirit of independence. Independence can wear many different hats, but at its core, it’s at its purest when somebody can be truly honest about who they are and make no excuses for it; a feeling deep down that won’t be suppressed. One that guides somebody to be different – not just for the sake of it – but one that coaxes a person towards the things that their soul needs to be fulfilled, and helps one know the forces that are working against. It’s about allowing the universe to guide one in the right direction and accepting its 14 billion years of wisdom. When we allow for it to lead us, beautiful things can happen.

Stephanie, our bride from last June (Montreal) embodies this trait to it’s maximum. A sculptor, artist, designer, and architect, she is wildly independent, vastly prolific, and blurs the lines between work incredibly well. Check out some of her work below, (including that staircase, sculptures, amazing altar-piece).
