Jake + Jen exchanged vows overlooking the Gatineau Hills at their Le Belvedere wedding in Wakefield Quebec. Their family and friends travelled from near and far to see them, after nearly a decade together they said “I do.” June is the brightest month of the year here in this neck of the woods, and the rays of light saturated every second of their day – from the first look to the last moments at dusk overlooking the cliffside venue.
Le Belvedere is one of the most popular wedding venues in the Ottawa area, and we photograph quite a few events there (check out some posts on our blog). With each wedding we document, we aim to find a new vantage point or portrait location. Every couple is unique, as are their celebrations. We don’t believe in shooting from “that” angle for every event. Jake and Jen’s day was no exception. We started with a first look in the little town of Wakefield, in a beautiful tall grass field. We then moved onto the property and found some new angles and little pockets of photo magic. For sunset, we took Jake and Jen down to the bottom of the hill, and photographed them on the little farm where Le Belvedere’s kitchen grows many of their herbs and delicious vegetables.
It can be a challenge to photograph the same area over and over again, but a challenge is something we’re always up for. We love photographing weddings at this gorgeous venue, and can’t wait for another season with Jessica and her awesome team at Le Belvedere. To see more of our work there, check out this Le Belvedere wedding.
Sweet summer lovin’, we can’t get enough of these two.
