Isla Mujeres is an incredible little island, off the coast of Cancun in the Mayan Riviera. I (Justyna) spent a week there in November, and had a chance to take some portraits of a dear friend of mine. It’s a small island, quiet and filled to the brim with taco stands, beach vibes and coffee shops. You can rent a golf cart for the day, and tour the entire island in about 2-3 hours.
We spent a sunset evening running around our newly discovered favourite haunts. The rocky beaches are so dramatic and beautiful, and the sunsets are splendid. If you’re thinking of visiting, here are a couple of our favourite spots. For dinner, check out Lola Valentina. If you’re looking for a place to stay, we’d highly recommend Hotel Ixchel, and there are nightly beach parties at Poc-Na Hostel. Across the ferry, back on dry land, Tulum is but a short drive away (and also highly worth seeing).
