If this year had a song, it might be the Rolling Stones “You Can’t Always Get What You Want…(but if you try sometimes, you just might find that you get what you need)”. Ok, perhaps a bit obvious, but in hindsight, this intimate at-home wedding might actually be a blessing in disguise; to be able to celebrate your wedding twice – once with a small group of immediate family, a beautifully decorated dinner table, and Chinese food take-out, and again with a larger group on your one-year anniversary – is almost an ideal scenario (pandemic notwithstanding). After all the fuss, the preparations, the re-preparations, the calls and emails and appointments with planners and florists, Emilie and Simons’ wedding (part one), was a rather flawless affair.
An intimate at-home wedding in the backyard with champagne, spring rolls, decadent flowers, immediate family only, and a gorgeous day in late October – it was a proverbial ray of sunshine in a less-than-sunny year. We can’t wait for round two in 2021…Special thanks to Elise (Toast Events) and Katherine (Pollen Nation) for their beautiful job on this day – if this is what’s considered to be a toned-down celebration, we are so excited to see what they pull out of their hats next year. Cin Cin!
