We aim to photograph your day truthfully – without boundaries or limits. We’ll show up when you need us to, and leave once your story is told. We don’t want you to worry about our schedule, we just want to be there for you.  We photograph most of the day in a documentary style – careful not to bring too big of our own footprint on the natural flow of your wedding.  We want you to remember your wedding, not a giant photoshoot.  We do take great care to photograph your friends and families as well – these are the important portraits that will ultimately stand the test of time and be passed on to the next generation to enjoy and relive.

We’re there to capture the fleeting moments and lucid memories. The joy in your partner’s eyes. The emotion of your families. The details you’ve spent all this time planning. When you look back on your photos, you’ll begin to relive it: hearing those sweet whispers in your ear, feeling the silk of your dress between your fingers, and seeing the joy on their face, all over again.

      We met on Craigslist.

Let’s tease that out a little, shall we?

Way back in ’08 Justyna was looking for photo contributors for a creative project she was managing. Joel came across her ad and inquired. What followed were years of artistic collaboration, friendship, exploration, and appreciation for each other. This turned to courtship, romance, a beautiful wedding, and a beautiful marriage.

With an education in art history, a previous career in fashion modeling, a family business in portrait photography, and a mutual love of French decadence, perfectly diffused light, old hardcover books, exotic travel, and heady perfumes, we compress all of it – all of it – into our careers as wedding photographers.

We truly believe that life is punctuated by chapters, paragraphs, books, and volumes. A wedding is the beginning – and end – of a volume. There will seldom be in life a time when so much love will fill a room. We know how wonderful – and important – it is to try and capture not just these fleeting moments, but also the feeling…We want to preserve for you these fondest memories that you will carry with you forever.

This is what we’re about. Our raison d’être.

      WHAT WE THINK ABOUT
      A DIFFERENT APPROACH

We don't stage. We're not about perfection. We won't ask you to be someone you're not. We strive to photograph moments as they occur so that you can remember how that moment felt - not necessarily how it looked.

We're not the type of photographers to arrive and follow strict shot lists, get perfect photos of dresses laying flat and everyone stiff and smiling at the camera. Most of our weddings look pretty different - because each couple, each family, each day we photograph is different. That's what inspires us most!

We may be biased, but we truly feel whoever you choose as a photographer is more than just a "vendor". This is the person who you will spend most of the day with. Their personality will have a bearing on your experience of the wedding day - and how you feel about the photos after the fact. Our best work happens when couples trust us, choose to enjoy their day above any hiccups that may arise, and are madly in love and not afraid to show it.

      FAMILY PHOTOS?

Most certainly yes! The photographs of your families and friends camera aware are vital and we take great care during this portrait session. We ask that you prepare a list of everyone you'd like a formal photo with, and assign a bridesmaid or groomsman (who knows your crew) to help us with this part of the day.

DARK & MOODY or LIGHT & AIRY?

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's really no such thing! We don't force a specific style on our couples. If you're getting married on a bright and sunny day, in a light-filled space with lots of windows, your photos will reflect that. If you've chosen a classic, Rembrandt-esque space, your photos will have more of a fine-art, oil painting vibe. The only way we'd really describe our style is "as it happens". The most important aspect for us is to immortalize in photos how your day felt.
