When Alison + Huey asked us to join them in Newfoundland for their Fogo Island engagement session, we jumped at the chance, and jumped on a plane. If you haven’t had a chance to explore the Atlantic provinces of Canada, you’re missing out. Fogo Island is a small little place on the northern coast of Newfoundland. You could drive around the whole island in about 90 minutes or so. Boasting incredible coastlines, dramatic weather, artists studios and delicious cod, its the perfect place to elope, get married or celebrate an engagement.
Alison and Huey both live in Newfoundland and brought their two pups along for the shoot. While we fought a bit of rain and inclement weather (you never know on the Atlantic coast), we managed to see (and photograph) a good chunk of the island. We started at Joe Batt’s Arm, home of the famed Fogo Island Inn, and wandered about from there. If you’re considering eloping, or hosting a small, intimate wedding celebration on the east coast, Fogo Island should be on your list. We would be happy to share more about our experience – give us a call or shoot us an email.
