We honestly can’t say enough about this past year – its been a whirlwind, and we could not be more grateful. It took us a while, but below is our portfolio of our best wedding photography of 2017. We were so lucky to ring in the New Year with Shell and Daniel in Hilo, Hawaii at their family home wedding. From there, we documented one of the sweetest, and most intimate of weddings in Los Angeles – Alex and Linda’s lovely Koreatown celebration. Without rattling ou every single amazing wedding, we traveled through New Zealand, France, Fogo Island, Tofino, Mexico, New York, Montreal, Toronto, Ingersoll Ontario, and even the classic honeymoon capital, Niagara Falls.
While destination photography can really come across as an ultimate goal (especially for many greener photographers), we can’t emphasize enough how grateful we are for all of the couples that hire us in our own backyard. Having a beautiful city or mountain as a backdrop can help, but the best wedding photography is focused on the strong emotional aspect of the day, and the little moments in between them. Being in the right place at the right time, catching that split second where a mother looks at her son with such pride, or the moment a young girl studies her great-grandfathers hands… All of these moments, which we were so lucky to capture this year, didn’t require a passport to make possible.
Despite this being our fourth ‘full-time’ season shooting together (3 part-time before that), with nearly 200 weddings under our belts, we’re still surprised by how much we have yet to see, experience, and grow as photographers. With each season-end comes a confirmation, reflection, and growth. We are so, so grateful for each and every one of these beautiful people who has trusted us with capturing memories for them. 2017, we thank you.
