Catherine and Adam, along with their planner – the uber talented Elise from Toast Events – planned the most stunning, intimate and elegant Autumn tent wedding we’d ever seen. These two beautiful souls decided that a small intimate celebration was perfect for them, and where better to tie the knot than their own backyard.
October in the Ottawa area can be a bit dicey weather wise, but it ended up being the sunniest and most beautiful day. Erin Carmichael from The Design Co., created supremely romantic and elegant florals for their clear tent reception. As wine and whiskey connoisseurs, Adam and Catherine planned every drink their guests had the chance to taste. During their ceremony, they dug up a whiskey bottle that had been buried for a month in the exact spot where they exchanged vows. “Burying the bourbon” is a southern tradition, but they swapped out a few details to make it their own.
Their beautiful autumn tent wedding featured live music – guitar for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and a live band for the reception. The late evening ended with cigars under moonlight, and laughs between friends. We’re honoured to be part of so many events, but its always a bit extra special when we’re invited to document these small, intimate weddings.
