Kat and Ramzi hosted a New Years Eve All Saints wedding, designed by Elise Schmitz of Toast Events, on what we think might have been the coldest day in Ottawa history. We were so lucky that Kat and Ramzi chose not only a beautiful venue for their celebration, but also considered their getting ready and portrait spaces. When its -40C, its pretty much impossible to shoot outside for longer than 2-3 minutes (your photo gear will literally start freezing and your autofocus won’t actually work).

That said, they chose a lovely gold and red decor scheme and Elise created a really modern and atypical dinner design – the tables are neither long nor round, but create geometric patterns around the reception space. After a lively and joyous cocktail hour, we all tried to get a quick sparkler shot on the stairs, and after 30 seconds in the cold, we ran in to warm up. What an amazing way to ring in 2018!
