On a sunny day in July, we photographed Laura and Rich’s Old Montreal engagement session. It was a perfect day – she had her final gown fitting, her showed up looking dapper as ever in his suit, and ran around the alleyways and cobblestone streets, catching light here and there. It was a gorgeous evening, and these two had no trouble roaming about arm in arm. Below are a few of our favourite images from that evening stroll in Montreal.
We’ve photographed in Old Montreal on more than a few occasions, and have a few tips. The sun goes down and hides behind the buildings a little earlier than sunset – the area is hilly and the alleyways are narrow. If you’re hoping for lots of golden light, luck may have to be on your side. There are tons of great cafe’s, storefronts and public art in the area that make for great backdrops. As with all sessions, the more excited, happy and animated the couple is, the better the photos turn out. Above all, Joel and I strive to find that emotional and romantic connection in our couples and think about locations after.
